Every Partnership Starts With a Conversation
Iconoclast Artists exists because of steady, trusted relationships with schools, community organizations, funders, artists, educators, and volunteers. Whether you want to bring our programs to your students, teach, mentor, or support our work, we’d like to talk.
Partner With Us
We partner with schools, districts, and community organizations across Houston and Galveston to bring free creative writing and poetry programs to middle and high school students.
-
Schools and districts
Our In-School program fits into the school day, aligns with the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS) for English Language Arts, and is led by experienced Teaching Fellows.

-
Community organizations
Through S.W.A.P. (Students With Amazing Potential), we bring after-school, weekend, and summer programming to community settings, with creative writing, the arts, creative movement, mentoring, and field trips.
-
Foundations and corporate sponsors
Funding partners help keep every Iconoclast Artists program free for students.
Join Our Team
Our team includes writers, poets, artists, and educators who want to help young people find their voices. Teaching opportunities include roles such as:
- Creative writing and poetry teachers
- Fine arts instructors
- Creative movement teachers
We don’t post openings here, but we’re always glad to hear from people who share our commitment to young people. Email info@iconoclastartists.org with a little about yourself and the work you’d like to do.
Volunteer and Mentoring Opportunities
Mentors give students another adult who listens. At S.W.A.P., mentors lead small-group conversations where students talk, ask questions, and build skills for navigating school, relationships, and life.
Houston S.W.A.P. meets on select Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Fair Haven, hosted by Chapelwood. Interested in mentoring or working as a teaching artist at S.W.A.P.? Email info@iconoclastartists.org.
We also welcome volunteers to help with [VOLUNTEER NEEDS].
