Blanca Rodriguez, Iconoclast Artists teaching fellow
Blanca Rodriguez Alanis is a Mexican American poet and human rights activist. In 2008 she opened the first Spanish bilingual bookstore in Houston, and her first work was published by Boundless 2010, The Río Grande Valley International Poetry Festival. Her Spanish bilingual poetry book, Puro Corazón was released in 2013. Blanca has participated in Houston WAT Poetry Tour, Frida Festival, and Houston’s Women International Festival. Her written work is inspired by Mother Earth, humanity, and justice. Blanca is a wife, mother of two children and a Curandera/Spiritual Healer, studying and practicing traditional medicines of Mexico. She is also an Ordained Minister and Reiki Practitioner. Her purpose in this journey is to be of service to others.
